Weigela - Variegated - The Variegated Wiegela, Weigela florida 'Variegata', has a compact habit, growing 4-6' high and wide. It has grey leaves with yellow/cream fringes, and dark pink flowers. This deciduous shrub is grown for its showy bell-shaped flowers and spreading, arching growth habit. Leaves are dark green, oval and tapered, to 2.5 inches long. Dark pink flowers with pale pink-white interiors, to 1 1/4 inches long are produced in corymbs on short lateral twigs on previous years growth in late spring to early summer. Flowers are attractive to hummingbirds. Very nice in a mixed shrub border. |

Forsythia Bushes - Forsythia - Lynwood Gold, Forsythia x intermedia 'Lynwood', Forsythia 'Meadowlark' , Forsythia - Show Off Forsythia 'Mindia' Forsythia x intermedia 'Lynwood Gold', is an old time favorite with an upright spreading habit and big yellow flowers up the entire length of stem. It is one of the best and most reliable of forsythias. The flowering stems appear as deep golden wands in April. 'Lynwood Gold' is a dense growing plant with an upright habit. Forsythia is excellent for hedging, fast growing and tolerant of moist soils. 'Lynwood Gold' grows 6 to 8 feet tall and wide and does best in sun to light shade. Allow plants to develop for the first three years with minimal pruning. Once plants are established prune in midspring after flowering by thinning out crowded stems from the center of the shrub. Also remove one or two old stems from the base. A little pruning will go a long way to keep your forsythia attractive and free flowering! |

It produces dark pink flowers which contrast nicely with the dark green, coarse foliage. The Haaga will begin to bloom in May. This plant needs excellent drainage, mulching and a peat moss soil additive. Roots will rot in poorly drained soil. It will not do well in windy sites. This dense evergreen shrub is a highly valued landscape ornamental. The large groups of showy pink flowers appear on even young plants. The Haaga is a very effective accent plant.
