Type: cactus 
Bloom season: early summer 
Flower colors: (can produce yellow flowers) 
Height & Spread: may attain a diameter of up to 3 ft. 
Site & Soil: well lit with slightly veiled sunlight; mixture of ordinary garden soil and two parts of washed sand; in summer water regularly but do not saturate; in
winter less often; keep the atmosphere reasonably humid. 
Origin: Mexico;
Use: will survive outdoors only in sub-tropics, otherwise a fine indoor or hothouse plant 
as a summer bedding plant 
Special interest: species of Agave are important economic plants, used for liqueur and other 
alcoholic drinks. Also the source of sisal.
