A tall, fast growing, solitary palm with a dense crown of  dark green leaves with broad leaflets. Native to the mountains of New Guinea, Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings.
Height: 12-15 ft.; 15-20 ft.; 20-30 ft. 
Spacing: 8-10 ft.; 10-12 ft.

A large conifer to 200 ft.tall with a trunk to 20 ft in diameter. Reddish bark, and a conical crown with spreading branches. Small leaves, needle-like and dark green.  Native to southern Japan as well as southern China where it is found in a variety of forests from near sea level to over 8200 ft. It is very easy to grow and will do well in USDA Zones 7 and above.
