The Genuine Lost In Space B-9 Robot. Hammacher:: The Genuine Lost In Space B-9 Robot.

This is the 6 1/2-foot, animatronic remote-controlled version of the B-9 Environmental Control Robot from the classic Lost In Space television series that ran from 1965 to 1968. Every detail of the original robot is faithfully reproduced from original archival molds, patterns and blueprints. It is made from fiberglass, acrylic, aluminum, and steel parts, including its rotating torso and radar head, flashing lights, animated ear sensors, and clawed arms. It can be operated using the included remote control, allowing you to move its torso left and right and activate the robots soil sampler (which comes out of its right tread housing and spins; the robot provides an audible environmental analysis thereafter). The robot has a 240-watt audio system, and speaks 511 pre-recorded phrases performed by Richard Tufeld, the original voice of the robot from the television series (including such familiar phrases as "Danger Will Robinson!") Pulling the robot's power pack causes it to utter "Aaghhhhhh..." just as it did in the TV series when being shut-down; plugging it back in prompts it to say "Who turned out the lights?" 78" H x 27" W. The Wifi Multi Media Robot. Hammacher:: The Wifi Multi Media Robot.

This is the WiFi robot that has a video camera, microphone, and built-in motion detector, allowing you to use it as a surveillance drone, sentry, or Internet telephone. The Voice Activated R2-D2. Hammacher:: The Voice Activated R2-D2.

This motorized replica of the headstrong little "droid" from the iconic Star Wars films responds to voice commands, navigates rooms and hallways, and makes any home feel like it has been transported to a galaxy far, far away (Play Video). R2 obeys more than 40 voice commands ("Turn around!" "Move forward two units!") and he plays games like tag, using an infrared sensor to search for people in a room. His sensor helps him follow behind you, or it can be set to detect motion, turning R2 into a room sentry that sounds an alarm when a secured area is invaded. R2's lights, swiveling dome top, and distinctive happy and sad sounds faithfully mimic the real thing, right down to his occasional "bad mood." The Programmable Gaming Robot. Hammacher:: The Programmable Gaming Robot.

This is the programmable gaming robot that competes against the clock or other robots in a series of games where you control the robot's movements (Play Video). The seven included games are interactive environments composed of pieces that include a base station, energy port, special effects hub, and three universal gaming pads; each accessory may be individually programmed using a simple, drag-and-drop interface with the included software (requires a PC running Windows XP or Vista). Depending upon the game you select (or modify using the software) each accessory serves a unique purpose: the base station can act as a depot, timer, or target; the energy port ejects a ball (which is corralled by the robot's built-in scoop) and recharges the robot; and the special effects hub provides robots with advanced maneuvers and abilities. The robot has infrared sensors and radio frequency identification chips that allow the robot to react to the game's accessories and other competing robots, helping it to avoid obstacles, navigate autonomously, and participate in any of the six included games. You can also participate in interactive online gaming using any of the robot's programmed routines--you can identify other robots online as "friend" or "foe" and the robot will interact with them accordingly. The games involve the robot picking up different colors by driving over encoded pads and delivering them to the hub before time expires, collecting a ball while avoiding "bullets," dropping electronic "land mines" to obstruct competing robots, and more. The robot's dual monowheel design provides nimble 360º movement as it moves between accessories--you can control it from up to 30' away. Requires 12 AA batteries. Ages 13 and up. (4 lbs.)

The Animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex. Hammacher:: The Animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex.

This is the animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex that responds to noise or touch with over 100 different sounds and expressions, providing children with an interactive prehistoric pet (Play Video). An internal system of servos, gears, and sensors form a biomechanical skeleton that delivers natural movements under a realistic reptilian skin. T. rex's eyes move, his tail wags, and he takes lifelike strides as he autonomously explores his environment. If he walks into a wall or furniture he will backtrack and growl at the impediment. Petting the back of the dinosaur's head elicits a grateful roar and calling his name prompts him to turn his head and walk toward the noise. A bone-shaped remote control has an "attack" button that prompts him to lunge forward and growl; pressing "guard" turns him into a sentry that scans a room for intruders and erupts with a hearty roar; pressing "prank" might cause him to release an ear-ringing belch. Requires five C and two AAA batteries. Ages 8 and up. 21" L x 12" H x 9 1/2" W. (7 1/4 lbs.)
